Punto (Mk1) Punto lights

Hi guys i have a fiat punto 55s manual and i wanted to know what is the light for under the gas meter, it seems to be always blinking, even when i have enough gas. what exactly is it

Low fuel level? You'll probably find it blinking under braking or hard cornering (fuel sloshing around tank) when around half full. Worry when it comes on permanently and start looking for a petrol station..

If it doesn't blink when the tank is full, there's no problem.

As you stated the light is coming on, even when it is full, it my mean the PONTETIOMETER (part of the FUEL PUMP) or the CONNECTION to the FUEL PUMP that is the problem (this can be accessed from inside the car under the back seat, and removing the round metal plate).
