Hellow
iv got my self a R reg punto gt it eats oil, and i need to top it up. a think it has been running on semi-synthetic but am not sure.

will it be ok to just top it up with fully synthetic or would it not mix?????

If its 'eating oil' where is it going, is it just leaking out on to the road or is it being burned by the engine? Any blue smoke from the exhaust at start up? I think blue smoke means you have badly worn valves. I'm no mechanic so get it checked out before it either blows a gasket or seizes up.

iv only had the car a few months and am not any good at fixing or that sort of stuff but it looks like the dump valve is spraying oil into the engine bay. theres oil all around it

Seals on the turbo by the sounds. Allows oil into the compressor and down the pipe into the inlet. hence oil around the dumpvalve - its all spraying out when it dumps.

there was a supposedly good turbo on ebay when i check yesterday.

remove the pipe from the compressor. run your finger around the inside... if there oil there its not a good sign im afraid. Oil typically makes exhaust smoke slightly blue rather than black, but if its only a small leak, it probably wont be that noticable through the exhaust fumes.

is went throngh a tank of oil in about 6000miles
it runs fine but, its a bit ruff when its realy cold out but if its a seal i,d expect it to get worse as the engine heats when thing have expanded.
the coolant is on the low side as well like a dont know if it just needs serviced
im still clueless HOPE it isnt the turbo £££££££
