Yes GT's can suffer from cracks/holes in the exhaust manifold.

I know the volvo I had, the manifold wasn't the best flowing (i.e 240b max really without having to go stupid, as it was basically square), but near nuke proof, wheras the newer better flowing ones (called simple a 91+) were great for power, but if you found one that wasn't crack and hol'd and needing repairing you would be considered VERY VERY lucky.
