I got my GT home last nite and found the engine to be covered in oil! I have also noticed that the oil pressure is on 3 bar...is this what its supposed to be? There is no sign of a leak so im just wondering where it could be coming from? There is also a bit of lagging in low revs and sounds like the car is spluttering. Please help!!!!! ASAP! :)
 
Hello again, congrats on the new car (y) The oil pressure is fine, it should sit at 3 bar when it is cold and when it is being revved, it will sit just below 3 when it is warm and on idle. As for your oil leak, is the dip stick in properly? Try not to run it if it is losing a lot of oil.

It is on 3 all the time though...doesn't go down at all. Im thinking the pressure is too high due to a blockage somewhere and its forcing the oil out from sumwhere. I don't know much about GT's as it my first one and ive never driven one before. It goes alright and dumps fine but there is oil everywhere! And it had a little bit of smoke coming from the left of the turbo pipe thing. (lol)
 
For some reason it won't let me view the site. Ive been having alot of probs with my PC. Its the same colour as ur GT btw.

May be a blocked breather getting crancase compression? or gasket gone but the oil pressure is probably OK
 
Its a GT3. Gonna strip the engine over the weekend it think. See if i can see anything.
 
engine is pressurising because of a problem. oil pressure release valve could be stuck, a blockage inside one of the oilway galleries, cracked head, crankcase pressurising. do not drive the car. get it looked at straight away.
 
What will i see when i take it apart? Or what should i look for. Ive never worked on one before.
 
Whats up with yours? Ive got ajustable boost on mine would it be better itf i turned it down?
 
My cv joints are knackered at the moment :( Whats yours had done to it? I wouldn't drive it with that problem if i was you. What psi is it running at the moment?
 
I think its about 10 cuz the guy said he tuned it down from 16. How do i find out? Its been chipped, got a printout saying its 170bhp. Its making a noise when i turn perhaps my ball bearings need doing. Oh and the blower is a bit noisy. Other than that its fine. Its got remote engine start which is cool. Jut worried about this oil leak and oil pressure.:confused:

10 :confused: Why did he turn it down from 16 for :confused: The noise when you turn sounds like CV joints to me as thats what mine is doing.
 
What should it be? The noise is coming from the right wheel. Also the steering is very light. I hope i can get it fixed, i really do. I had a GT last year but it was really ****ed, ended up selling it for £200 quid! lol!
 
Deffo sounds like CV joints to me. You know what chip it is? I am running about 17-18 psi but i have a full scorpion exhaust with de cat, piper x air filter and a seb chip.
 
I wonder how much this is all gonna cost me? Im beginning to wonder whether its all worth it?! Not sure what chip it is, could be a Seb2? Mines got an exhaust on it and a K&N. It goes anyway!
