Tuning Punto Fuel Filters, Mk1 <> Mk2

I doubt the fuel filter has ever been changed on my punto.

And i;m not bloody surprised, pattern parts for over £20? Its a fuel filter for christ sake. My transit filter cost £4.99.

Can I use a mk1 on my mk2?

No don't think so. Mk2 filter is part of the fuel pump in the fuel tank and shouldnt need replacement. If you really feel the need to filter your fuel then why not buy a few of these and chuck one on with a couple of clips

Must be cus I usually drive diesel I thought about changing it Filthy dirty stuff, but nice with a bit of 2 stroke.

can someone tell me where it is and how to replace it,if u can do it with pictures would be great,tnx

Look under the car for a canister around the size of a small coke tin. That's it. Really, the only thing to note is that you must fit it the right way round -- see the arrow -- and have something to slop the fuel running out -- a couple of bolts, maybe, or a clamp.

You may find it worthwhile getting new fuel line clips -- only a few pence from a factor -- the old ones may be so rusted as to need tearing off. Clips are generally better on small diameter hoses than jubilee clamps.
