Technical punto dizzy conversion

Hi there new to forum but I need advice we have a 1.2 8valve punto on a R plate which we are planning to race in a controlled formula ,what we need to do to comply is remove the fuel injection and run carb but carb and manifold are free,we also need to convert to coil and dizzy set up and then remove ecu and most of the loom .What would be the best coil and dizzy to use for the conversion ,the engine in question is the Fire lump.

Bloody silly formula if it forces people to spend money! You've not got a lot of choice re dizzy -- I think you'll have to snag one from an early Panda.

If carbs are "really" free, you might run bike carbs, one per cylinder. If not, see what the F750 folk are doing -- some seem to be running mini style split Webers on very long intake manis.

Where would you take the gear off for the distributor? Surely this can't actually be done on a punto engine?

Comes off the cam, where the coil pack sits. I'm unsure of whether you have to swap the whole head or simply machine a hole (and I can't remember if the later FIRE cams are slotted for the drive). Rallycinq will know.
