Hi everyone,

To make a long story short, just bought a 2003 1.1 active sport Seicento for my daughters first car.

Had to fetch it from over 100 miles away and was initially pretty happy with it..low mileage, service history etc but have since found the fuel tank was leaking and a very annoying pulling sensation whilst driving. Almost like the car is being pulled back by some force, abit like down shifting too soon. Its fine when stationary, no cutting out or anything and it seems to jerk more when going uphill, although also happens on level ground.

Took it to local garage to have the tank changed and get a basic service. Air, Oil and plugs changed. Also 2 new tyres. Mentioned the 'pulling/jerking' to the mechanic and he seemed to think the service will sort it out. It hasn't.

Anyone had similar experiences with their seicento? Any info would be great. thanks in advance

Hi there, welcome to the forum.

Not really sure what to suggest, I presume you've checked that the wheels spin freely and that the brakes aren't sticking? Could possibly be a sticky injector, can't hurt to put a bit of Forte injector cleaner through it. Other than that, might be a sensor on it's way out but lets start simple ;)

Do you mean its down on power? Only on acceleration? Need more info. Does it do it when engine cold or hot or both?

Can't see it being anything serious but may take time to trace it.

Also state where you're located in case a local cento friendly user can help

Sorry its taken ages to get back to you all but the car has been in the garage and is being looked at as we speak.

He's says its definitely fuel related. Theres no fuel filter as its an 03 and then fitted a fuel pump. That didn't really do anything and is now saying its the crank sensor??

The car starts fine but starts to jerk after a little exertion, paticulary in 3rd gear. It doesn't cut out completely, but at its worst, it does feel like it can but a little reving sorts it out. But then it continues to intermittenly jerk all the way home!

A friend who had a car with similar symptoms suggest i get some Redex..what do you all think??

Good news..just got it back and the jerking has gone. Mechanic said it was the crank sensor. Fingers crossed the daughter can start to enjoy her car. Thanks for all your feedback guys x
