Pulled by the Police 12 Hours after passing!

Thing is the Police will have you "tagged" now, see you... stop you... so you need to be cleaner than clean in everything you do in your car.

Police have a job to do, they see the results of tools driving cars & noob drivers wrapped around various bits of street furniture on a daily / weekly basis.
Ever since I first started to drive in 197thingy young drivers have been a target for the Police. They almost always drive older cars which are more likely to have something wrong with them and because of the cost, least likely to be insured. Why do things the hard way? If you've got to issue a certain number of tickets and present a certain number of processes you might as well take the easy way out. With a change of Government things might change, but one thing that won't is young drivers being stopped by the 5-oh. So as Ffoxy says, you'll have to be on your best behaviour

Haha, tbh I thought the only hookers were in the town centre and around strange ways.
I also don't need to pay for sex, I get plenty for free :D
I don't either because I've been married for over 20 and.....hang on a minute, that means I actually have been paying for sex; for over 20 years.

Depends on what you are using the 'road' for, I know of a couple of places that are car parks, but classed as roads when you use them in a certain way.

Was told that in most car parks you need insurance etc even though its not a road as such.
Most car parks will need insurance because they are accessible to the public, even if they are not ".....maintained at public expense....."

just to be cocky, i technically wasnt on the road ;)

and i am very safe on the road,

WAAHHAHAHHA!.....Says who exactly? The insurance companies may beg to differ. The fact is you havent had a full license for a week :D. Come back in a few years time when you have got some real experience sonny (y)

;) The more you practice (experience) the luckier you get (do things right)... (y)

Now we all had to start driving & we all made mistakes, we still do, but being cocky will only get you grief... boring advice or not it's true...

My daughters have taken my boring advice, No points, No crashes, No Stops by Cops. But then they are girls who dont suffer from invincibility complex & Testosterone overdose...

Why is not having music loud and not having coffee or anything make you a safe driver? Also under the speed limit? That pisses people off and causes just as many accidents and bumps.

You described the typical annoying, 20mph driving OAP! They are NOT safe drivers.

I would have considered myself a safe driver in my 1st year, yeah you don't break the speed limit but the fact you were doing 35 on a 60 and crapped yourself when there was something on the road shows you're not fully confident and not going to react well to things developing in front of you.
A good driver always expects the unexpected.

Don't mean to offend but that's my thoughts (y)

any stats to back that one up?

Yeah 90% of crashes are caused by old people! That'll do :p
80% of crashes caused by people driving too slowly.

Stats taken from the database of Bredsticz university. Studies into dip****s :p

Okay so it's people overtaking the slow ones that crash but i still blame the slow driver

if you crash overtaking, then it wasnt safe to do so
or the car coming the other way was going too fast

They still annoy me and people drive into the back of them because they brake too soon and slow far too much for corners. Or just get annoyed so wanna ram them off the road :D

Then those people are too close to them if they can't stop in time. Only a fool breaks the two second rule.

If people are crashing when overtaking then its their own fault, not the person who they are overtaking, they are going at a speed that they want and feel happy with.

Wow you have real anger management issues Mr bredsticz... joking or not thats worrying...
I suggest a few Track days to set your own level of skills & ability, see how you fare against real racers...
Leave the roads for those who just want to drive from a - b or get around at work...

Haha cheers, n track day is planned for next year at some point! I still don't like to be held up by people doing less than the limit.

I personally wouldnt ram them off the road! Can't spoil my beautiful punto!

Good to hear it! (i think?) ;)
Bets few days i ever had, single seat race car days, rear engines really make you concentrate!

But I cant find it anywhere in the Highway code that you HAVE to drive on the limit all the time....

No its not a rule. Like common courtesy. You don't HAVE to do it but if you don't it never pleases people

well if you are behind me in the beast you had better be ready to overtake
a RWD 2.5 V6 with plenty of torque.overtake or sit behind me
im not gonna move over
i may smoke you off the lights though :p

i can see the point about young driver's getting pulled ,even when they do nothing wrong but what got me was wheel spinning 3-4 mtr's without knowing ,come on 10-13 ft you having a laugh or are your tyres nackerd i think any one would know spinning that much

Plagiarising Gary Player there.....or maybe it was Arnold Palmer

Well let's see, having music very loud, and let's face it, who hasn't, takes one of your senses away, namely that of hearing. Ask any driver of an emergency vehicle and you'll find that a hell of a lot of drivers who get in their way because of not using their mirrors also have music very loud and can't hear sirens. They often also can't hear things such as a deflated tyre. (Both things I have witnessed personally). If you are drinking coffee, or anything else for that matter, you are not in full control of your car. The "OAPs" you mention are not driving dangerously by driving at 20. If you came across a tractor or combine harvester it would probably be travelling at 20, as would a JCB or electric milk float. While irritating, it's up to you to deal with that just as you would the other slow moving vehicles. The majority of people I come across driving below the speed limit, at least on roads like the A59 or A61 are not elderly, but simply have no idea of the speed limit or are incapable of driving at it. They could make life a lot easier for everybody else by driving a yard or metre from the verge instead of on the centre line.

What could be even more frightening is that my father, who's now 82, drives faster than ever!!!!!!!

Oh dear, here we go again. I'm sure it's a long way off yet, but when you're old, you will be doing the same.

No its not a rule. Like common courtesy. You don't HAVE to do it but if you don't it never pleases people
Patience is a virtue. You don't have to do it but if you don't it never pleases people.

Don't forget that the OP approached this with sense of irony by making himself the butt of a joke, namely his misfortune. Maybe he's aware of his mistake, hence the original post.

Hence? Sounds a bit like an Auto Trader advert:

Meh screw all that, when I'm old I won't be a slow driver and chances are I'll never live to be old anyway :p
Well try not to take anybody else with you, there's a good chap. It could be Mrs. Beard sweeping you up off the street or out of a tree, and me going round to inform your next of kin.
