Pulled by the Police 12 Hours after passing!

From what the op said there is no reason for this to be trrue. They were just giving him the scare factor because he is a new driver. They will only hound him if he did something illegal, had a defective car, no insurance or had drugs.
Police really arent going to worry about some kid who did a wheelspin once.

Nah....they will be thinking...He`s got potential :D

Thing is the Police will have you "tagged" now, see you... stop you... so you need to be cleaner than clean in everything you do in your car.

I very much doubt he'll be tagged on the ANPR for something so minor. They normally only do that for more serious stuff simply because its such an inconvenience for the accused and them. At the end of the day they have real criminals to deal with such as people turning private rental properties into drug labs!

To the OP:- Sounds like the copper just wants to put the s**ts up you to stop you turning into one of the many young testosterone fuelled idiots you get on the roads. Realistically there was nothing he could have done in the slightest other than what he did do and as long as you play along and pretend to be scared that's all that will happen.

I got followed by 2 CID in an unmarked Focus who witnessed me over take on the overtaking lane on the motorway up to 95mph and then back down to 75-80mph. They found it necessary to pull me over and make on like I was some sort of high profile criminal and that he was going to rip up my license . I was thinking "prick" in my head but I just acted remorseful and get let off with a warning and him saying that he'd log it on the ANPR system so anytime a traffic car see's me and I'm doing anything untoward I'd get pulled.

Again non of which was true as 3months later it still hasn't appeared on the database .

Then again watching Traffic cops they pulled a Clio because 12 months before it had been pulled an a passenger was found to be in possession of a small amount of cannabis and was tagged on ANPR.

Speaking of which I think one of my old car was tagged...after I got pulled late one night, was very tired and wired on caffiene to compensate, they thought I was drunk or maybe on drugs but couldn't prove anything, but I got pulled several times in that car the following year, been pulled once in the 5 years since

I think Ffoxy was saying by other officers, not put on the ANPR system, but they'll keep an eye out for him etc.

Spot on Kier... they do. Easy cop, see the lad I know for details.
My bro in law was Inspector in a local Police force, Traffic division, & getting a number on ANPR couldnt be easier... But no, I meant the local Traffic Cops will be on the lookout for him (thats what they will be inferring anyhow) as well as constantly being on the lookout for any spotty yoofs driving a car... Not fair I know but it happens... conveniently a lot of young new drivers unwittingly have other problems with their cars if & when a lairy Traffic officer chooses to dig around a bit!

I am sure you are right, but wouldn't the police be doing us all a favour in the long run if they took the approach of gaining trust, giving guidance, being the voice of experiene etc at least in the first instance, rather than trying to find ways to achieve an easy collar?

Nice to hear all the comments on here, as well as all the boring sods!

I took my papers and everything was fine, although today i was driving back home on a 60 road in the dark, and in the wet, when i went round a sharp corner (which i did at about 35 because of the conditions) and as soon as i went round, 2 cows, yes COWS were just stood there.

Another pair of new boxers needed haha :p ive not been too lucky with driving as of yet!!

And in 3 days, ive driven 225 miles just seeing mates, but i have now found out my MPG is around 45, not bad for a 1.2 petrol ;)

thats exactly what i did haha!

can you check if you are on the database or not?

Yes but that's drugs. Not wheel spinning a little bit out of a car park...

Then again we are getting one side of the story

you speak alot of sense ChrisUK!! and thats the only side of the story haha, i could see thier point if i was doing handbrake turns, or nearly hitting something but i wasnt!

i really do think they were just out to scare a young driver aha

Looks like you are going to grow up and become a mature, sensible and responsible road user.....doesnt it , assuming you dont become a statistic first.

just to be cocky, i technically wasnt on the road ;)

and i am very safe on the road, always under the speed limit, dont have my music excessively loud, not on my phone, dont drive under the influence of anything, including coffee, which by the sounds of things a few people have had problems with :p

it was just some lads in a car park, at night, talking. niothing more, nothing less. A funny story to tell for the rest of my life nevertheless!!

Depends on what you are using the 'road' for, I know of a couple of places that are car parks, but classed as roads when you use them in a certain way.

Was told that in most car parks you need insurance etc even though its not a road as such.
