We have upgraded the wife's 2011 Fiat 500 twin air (86hp) to a 2016 1.2 8v Pop.
Everything is fine apart from the flashing mileage.
Upon further investigation with MES and trying a Proxi alignment, I found these errors.
before radio removal.jpg

The Radio Receiver (NRR) is showing as removed
So I started to look for the ETM, which I think is the Blue & Me ecu. After removing the rear seat and the left hand rear speaker panel, I found nothing.
After some more searching, the 5 inch Uconnect radio, which the car comes fitted with, does not have a Blue & Me ecu. Is this installed in the 5 inch Uconnect radio?
So I unplugged the radio completely and did another Proxi scan, this is the result.
after radio removal.jpg

As you can see, the Entertainment Telematics Node has vanished, also the Receiver Radio is still showing as Removed.
If I re-fit the radio, the Entertainment Telematics Node returns with Added / EOL Failed, but the Radio is still showing as removed. Why would this be?
Now I know that this radio is not original to the car as it has the radio code written on the underside in marker pen and if different to the one included in the factory/makers codes, which I obtained from a Fiat dealer.
Looking further at a pin out diagram see below,
radio pin connectors.jpg
I can see the Can wires + on pins 1 & 2, also on pins 11 & 12.
Could I link these together, e.g. pins 1 to 11 and pins 2 to 12, or does the can system not work like that?
Just trying to get to the bottom of the errors in Proxi alignment.
Also is there any way to find out what radio was fitted when it left the factory, why was the radio swapped?

Steve.

Just another thought.
Seeing as this unit is from another vehicle, would it need re-coding to our vehicle first before doing a Proxi alignment.

Possibly, although surely it wouldn't work at all if not recognising the new radio?
I know many people have issues with thwe Blue & Me part, but others on Forum may have motre detail on this than me.

Thanks for that bugsymike.
I know the radio works, but why does it not show up in the Proxi scan. There is no change if the radio is connected or removed, apart from the Entertainment Telematic Node (ETM), which disappears when the radio is unplugged.
Something tells me the ETM is built into the radio rather than a separate Blue & Me unit. Nothing gives a clue to this in the pin out diagram that I have.
Sometimes it takes several attempts to get proxy allignment to work.
@gr J.
Thanks for the info, I have tried a few times, but no joy at present.

This is the radio in question.

The non original radio will be at the bottom of this Im sure. Flashing mikes is the warning the can bus network is incomplete. I dont know unfortunately how you get over it. If the car expects B&m but has uconnect that may be it. I understand uconnect may still use an ecu as its probably a development of B&M. others on here have a much better understanding of it.
