Hi all, post from the n95 again here as college internet has gone down.
Had some bad news from dad today. His Selecta (the mintest Panda we've got) was involved in an accident today. As we know unfortunatly insurance companies like to try and write older cars off and always try to pay as little as possible. Basically Im asking for anyone who sees a mint panda in say the auto traider, or somewhere online to post the link so i can start getting proof of what the little gems are worth, to be able to get a decient payout. And panda will do really. Just out of interest what would members on here be willing to pay for a mint (propper mint, no rust, nout wrong) 1993 1108cc selecta with only 22k on the clock as a rough guide.
Just typical really, just as we thought we'd seen it all this month with pandas going wrong.
Jon.

:( - sad to hear that :(

Is it not too late....I think they've got big book with all details...or it's more for you?

get a whole load of fellas on here to post adds for their own cars on various free add's webby's. Obviously with dud numbers so you dont get hastled all the time.

If everyone kept it around a similar price should get you what you want.

thanks for all the replys so far (god knows what my phone bill will be, i hope the £1.50 a day capped internet usage on my phone is working).
Happened in a bloody Tesco carpark about lunch time today. Dad was driving through the car park and someone in a new hyandi decided to just drive out of a space. Pandas wing and door compleately fecked apparently. I wont see it until sat, but will get pics up then.
The old girl put up a good fight and ripped the bumper and headlights clean off the front of the hyandi. Rofl
Dad thinks its repairable, but of course insurance wont see it like that, so will probably be written off and we'll buy it back (dads under very strict instructions about that bit! Lol.)
Luckily the other person had admitted full liability (not that they couldnt really) so that should make the process easier.
Just seems to be one thing after another at the mo, what with my Sisley that I only just got going again about 5 hours ago now.
Jon.

shall we put adverts in gumtree.com....you can choose you city....
free, easy to remove later...

But I'm not sure if it's good proof for insurance company?

What price for selecta'94 MINT :) 600??

Glad your dad is ok Jon,

When you get your hands on the Selecta find and turn off the 'Muppet magnet'

At least the old girl taught the high and dry who is boss.

When you see dad take him down the pub and buy him a swift pint - I think he might need it (y)

Hopefully the damage isn't so bad and with the help of the support network here the Selecta will soon be back buzzing around

and tell him to stay in bath for 2 hours in very, very warm water...I heard that it's the best after any accident...it helps your body and mind!!

Oh no, I hope you get it all sorted ok... You should expect no less than £500 baring in mind its mileage.

On the plus side, these cars are very cheap to get fixed up. I hope its not a write off. Hopefully the speeds were low enough for it to be cosmetic, being in a car park. Nice warm bath sounds like a good idea. I was a nervous wreck after my crash, not to mention crying my eyes out

Thoughts are with you and your dad mate,

Si

Sorry to hear that. You may remember that our purple Colour was written off last year. We managed to get £550 off of our insurers without any quibbling and afterwards I thought that I could probably have pushed it a bit further. It was in nice condition but not mint with over 80,000 miles on the clock. I think you should argue for £700 minimum to start with. The reaction seems to depend from insurer to insurer. I've found good and bad.

Just make sure you stick it out for as long as it takes. Autotrader is a good place to find examples as Pandas on there are always on the high side. Make sure that they are absolutely clear on the mileage and clear that you treat this as a cherished vehicle. If necessary make a written statement of everything you have done to keep the car in tip top condition.

If they are proving difficult, long angry letters are a good bet and make sure that they don't try to send a scrappy round to tow it away - they tried to do that with the 4x4 several years ago.

'94 999 on Autotrader now for £500 with 42,000 miles http://search.autotrader.co.uk/es-u...icleYearOfManufacture=1994&vehicleRegLetter=L

gutted to hear the news, you've not had much luck this week. fortunately with your collection you can afford some time to argue with the insurance company. Some idiot wrote off the wifes Impreza a couple of years ago and the insurers just played silly buggers for a couple of months but if you obviously aren't desperate enough to have to take the first offer, they get sensible eventually. the payout was over double the initial offer.
wouldn't it be nice not to have to argue...
one way or another I hope it's repairable. hate to see another casualty:(

why not take them to the small claims court for the value of the damage...

Then when the amount is awarded the other persons insurance company has to pay out for the amount that the court decides

Its the other persons fault, their insurance has to pay out against any action taken against them

Jim
