Technical Proper Jack Points

I tend to jack the front of my car up under the centre of the spring, and then put stands under the aluminium spring mounts. At the rear, I jack the car upon the central jacking point on the rear cross-member and put stands under the rear suspension arms.
For jacking the car up to replace a wheel in an emergency, jack the front up on the appropriate aluminium spring mount, and at the rear, again on the suspension arm. I, personally, NEVER use a jacking point---too suspect! Other than an emergency out on the road (flat tyre etc) NEVER work with the car only on a jack--ALWAYS put a stand(s) under the car.
