Technical Prop shaft boot or seal?

Removed prop shaft to recently change clutch and slave cylinder. Now a month on and needing to check exhaust. On examination under car on have a line on grease above the rear of the front coupling. Is there supposed to be to be a cv boot clip or similar on this? What and where can I get a replacement seal? Or just take off and find local prop shaft builder/refurbisher. No problem with the joint or the centre bearing.

Looking at photos when I replaced my propshaft, it doesn't look like anything is missing so presumably the seal has failed on yours. I am not aware of any DIY replacement parts for the CV ends so I guess you need to get it to a propshaft specialist.

The CV seal has failed. You can get repair kits on Autodoc for £45-£50 but when you consider the CV at the other end is probably also worn, and your centre bearing might as well get replaced while you're at it, then with the hassle/labour factored in you might as well just get a new propshaft.

I had the same issue on my 169 and that was my rationale.
