Picked the HGT up yesterday. 60k miles FSH, some minor issues required for MOT but generally much tidier than I expected it to be and needs less work than I thought it would.

Thrown a new head unit and battery on today, full service and generally a bloody good clean. Just need to sort out the wiper linkages, stick a new backbox on as its got a big dirty hole in it and sort out the airbag light and I can MOT it. As my dads a mechanic I get parts dirt cheap and do all the work myself. Should be on the road for very little.

Quite pleased with my little £300 warm hatch!

Anyone know who did the ecu chips for these? Far as I'm aware it's not mappable. Not really planning on doing much else to it, maybe a slightly sportier exhaust backbox as the original has had it but nothing too boy racer ish.

£300, that is not a bad bit of business. Quite fancy a HGT in the new year as a track car maybe, thought about a Saxo/106 but they have been done to death but want something a bit different.

it looks like a very nice car, its a shame these will only get cheaper and cheaper and be eventually scrapped without anything really being wrong with them its just they are so expensive to tax something like £250+ ? nearly as much as the car cost in the first place :(

Can never understand someone who thinks the cost of RLF is comparable with value of the car, its a running cost, the vehicles value has nout to do with it, if the car is worth £300, £3k, or £30k, RFL is still a running cost, simple as :bang:

Luckily it's not on its original belt but will be due another in the not so distant future. Again I'll do it myself along with the water pump etc before it becomes an issue.

Couple more pics...
