This is going to sound daft but:

i was rooting around the garage today when i uncovered an engine, that turns out to be a chrysler 6.3ltr V8 from a 1965 Jensen CV8...'which was nice'. My pops has the car with a recon engine running, so not sure why he has a spare.

however, this could be the answer to the lack of torque from my HGT...i'd get 425ft/lbs at 2800rpm...did i mention 330Bhp. Obviously no heavy ECU stuff involved though i'm guessing it would tear the Fiat chassis apart, however someone said on here with regards to modding/engine transplants that anything was possible given enough time/money/and balls.

i'm tempted to buy a duffed old bravo and have it as a project to play with over the next 4-5 yrs! Bravo HGT-V8...makes me laugh just typing it. :)

Go for it m8...:)

The first V8 Bravo in the world (probably ;))...

It will have to be rear or 4wd other wise it will be undrivable...

Rip out the rear seats, and put it as close to the middle and as low as possible...:)

Depending on the weight of it, it could be a beast...

i'm still laughing at the thought of it dude but i cant let a huge V8 like this to go to waste! i'm thinking that all the effort it takes to drop in a coupe turbo engine which i'm sure wont satisfy my power craving anyway, hell i may aswell go all out. mid-mounting a V8 it will probably make the car handle better as well. might be rather loud too. :)

I've been in a clio V6, which wasn't as loud as i had expected...but not a quick either...

Anyway, nothing that a bit of mdf, covered with dynamat exptreme couldn't solve...lol

the noise would be one of the least of my worries. I dont know exactly what i'd need (apart from 15K cash!) but i guess the chassis would need strengthened and i'd have to find a gearbox and clutch capable of withstanding the forces. Then it'll need some crazy suspension setup and I'd also need to find someone stupid enough to help me. not surprisingly it's not exactly worth doing and i would not be able to keep much of the original bravo anyway.

You'd be better off adapting an existing chassis and putting the bravo body ontop. The bravo shell would twist with that sort of torque.

It's all starting to seem rather pointless now isnt it. i'm surprised i havent been called an idiot yet. whilst i was intoxicated last nite though it seemed like the best idea in the world ever.

Thing is Tom, the engine is from a 1965 Jensen CV8 and i am highly unlikely to find one of these that i could use to put a bravo body onto. I wouldnt do that to a jensen anyway as they are lovely cars. It surely couldnt fit and to buy a jensen would cost me 10-20K at least i think.

damn shame to see such an engine just sitting there though..
