Hello, I've just joined the Fiat Forum. I've been having problems with my Punto (1242, 8v, year 2000), namely over-revving when braking

Has anyone else experienced this?

My dealer thinks it might be the Throttle Potentiometer, and wants to change it, at a price of over £500. Is this reasonable or not?

hi,

i have only just joined the forum but im having a similar problem. i know its a little late and u have probably had the problem sorted now but i just want to say that price they want is rediculous i had my throttle potentiometer chaged when i brought it as part of the throttle body as you cant buy the sensor on its own. my garage explained that they would have to buy all the manifold and that would cost alot so i went and brought the throttle body myself for £35 and paid the garage 1 hours labour at £40.its a much cheaper option than the one you are faced with.if you did have the problem fixed already what was the cause to help me possibly.

thanks
