Technical problems starting the car - electrical fault?

I have recently been having problems starting my 1.6, 58 plate Sedici Dynamic.


It has been looked at by a mechanic who could not find anything wrong with it and cleaned up spark plugs etc. He advised it is likely to be an intermittent electrical fault but thinks it is somehow connected to the key fob??


Has anyone else had this problem or can advise what I could do next?

Now and again my Sedici will just crank over, then after 5-6 secs cranking, will fire up. I've put this down to an intermittment fault with the crankshaft sensor. Could maybe be metal filings on the tip.
