General Problem with flashing mileage and Blue and Me steering wheel controls.

This is a brilliant piece of info thanks to who ever it was who originally posted it...was it Littlepip? Anyway I'll memorise it and make sure I make those points to mu dealer if there is anything wrong with my B&M system, cos I know I'll be relying heavily on it.

Yes it was Littlepip. All credit where it is due...

Harsh!
And will win you no favours with T or LittlePip I'd imagine.

i never said ALL i said most and unfortunatly its is true of most
" as evidence most fiat garages are drilling new holes in tailgates to fit numberplates because its too difficult to line up 2 holes that already exist !! " and its not always the teenage car washer who does it either..
so i appologise to forum mechanics but you are the ones who care the majority don't

Well. My little Fica is now resident at the local Fiat dealer. I have just opened a case with Fiat customer services and am awaiting their response.

This is interesting I folded the rear seats down for the first time to-day and it's only after putting them back in place that I got the flashing mileage for the first time. As I have said in a previous reply it took a stop and restart to get it to stop and it's been fine I'll keep an eye in it (n)

your car needs proxy aligned after work with gearbox ecu was carried out it was obviously not done take it back

also you are proving that most customers are stupid keeping an eye on it it's a new car under warranty for crist sake take it to the dealer each and every time anything happens or you may cause more damage yourself buy leaving such faults to go unchecked and in some cases depending what happens fiat wont pay for damage caused by driving with faults present

I will agree that some mechanics are useless. It happens in any profession.
However T and Littlepip and although he hasn't been around in the 500 section NumanR have colleagues who although are not members of the forum and do not take Fiat home with them, to then dream of Fiats. but instead leave work at work and concentrate on other things at home. Are no less skilled or dedicated to doing their job right.

Also as someone who started in the motor trade as a valeter a damn good one I might add. The term teenage car washer doesn't really do it for me either.

But everyone is entitled to their opinion. :)

To the OP
In my professional I believe the problem is that your needing a new proxy alignment. I suggest going with a Bosch one. The mechanic at work told me the standard fit ones are Bosch. Mind you it might just need some new Proxy juice in which case you should use Selenia. :p

:ROFLMAO:

reminds me of the guy who was conned into buying some halogen liquid for his head lights as they were running low

Hi Guys.........slightly off subject but I agree it is too easy to slag off a dealership and its staff due to a few teething problems.

As mentioned above we all have new cars with warranties, which although frusrating, should all be sorted in due course.
Go on FIAT prove us all wrong about your after sales care.

Personally I can thoroughly recommend my dealer (pdh cars Hassocks) for quickly and efficiently sorting out a small panel imperfection. No Fuss, No mess, Very Happy.(y)Cheers Paul.

Worlds apart from a certain Mercedes Benz garage we had the displeasure of using recently.

I'm rapidly becoming more and more glad that I didn't go for a merc in the end....I do hear a lot of nightmare stories about their after sales care....

Think of all the parts on a car, think of all those parts constantly moving/turning mile after mile at high speeds, subject to extreme temperatures hot & cold every day for years......it's amazing they work at all !!!

The 500 & bravo represent a new era for Fiat, miracles dont happen overnight (at build quality, dealership or CS level) but they have moved one hell of alot closer & despite what some may say they are actually better than many others.

very true

Hey there, just to say my odometer has just started flashing, too. After only 154 miles, and no Bluetooth involved. Bah.
It's going into the dealer tomorrow. Will keep looking for you to give me hope and report a happy resolution!! :D

hum will be interesting what happens fiat will no doubt release some software updates for them as it seems to be happening quite a bit

but untill s tech reports it to fiat and a solution is found i s pose all they can do is keep replacing bits if proxy alignment does no good for now

i bought a brand new beetle cabrio which had a banging from underneath the dealer couldn't find it. when we arrived home i had a look to my horror the chassis tie bar was hanging off it was 3 feet long 4 inches wide and the dealers never saw it. more like they never looked. plus i've had 2 bmw's both had headgaskets
so my point is brand reputation means nothing at all

So true. I think although VAG cars are good in regards to build quality they're not quite as good as people think they are. But if it makes people happy to drive a VAG car then good on them. They're the ones who paid a lot more than they should have :)

Just an update on the little Fica's condition:

Interior stripped out and awaiting Fiat's "Flying Doctor" as no one seems to know what the problem is. (n)

And I have a Grande Punto 1.2 basic model which I really don't like. Good points, the engine is sweet and it has a nice compliant ride, but it is very plastic fantastic compared to the 500.

Please, please fix it quickly! :bang:

It's what they've done to it before the FD arrives that worries me. The dealership seem to have absolutely no concept of customer service. They are surly, rude, do not communicate and treat the customer extremely badly. They should be ashamed. I have made two calls to find out progress in the last eight days and the first time I was told: "I work in parts and service are too busy to speak to you, try calling back tomorrow at a quiet period." The second time "Hold on, I'll speak to the chief technician", only to be put on hold and get a voicemail telling me that service was busy and would I like to leave a voicemail. I called back and they thought it was funny.

The technician who looked at it the first time left oily hand marks all over the ivory trim and steering wheel, which I was not impressed with.

Once I have the car back they will be getting a very polite letter to the dealer principal. Not to mention the letter that goes to Customer Services...

Oh and while I'm having a rant, I do not expect to be told to bring the courtesy car back every morning, just in case another customer needs it.

They are not going to ask for the courtesy car back now until it is fixed, after I had a polite word with the service manager... and I really DO mean polite.
