Problem With Car Radio Power Wiring

Hi I have a tiny problem with the wiring on my new Sony MP30 CD player.

I want to be able to listen to the radio without the ignition on. I have Pin 7 to the yellow lead from my radio and 4 connected to red from my radio.

Originally this was reversed but the radio was loosing its memory when the ignition was switched off.

Accourding to my CD Player manual... for cars without ACC you connect both red and yellow from the radio to pin 4 on the car. I have tried this and still I cant use the radio without ignition.

Any hints would be gratfully accepted!!

Have you tried connecting them to pin 7?

Pin 7 or at least the red wire to pin 7 is a permanent feed. Pin 4 or at least the Orange wire to it is only live with the ignition on.
