Technical problem just happened engine management

For about a week i have been thinking that my spark plugs need changing on my multipla petrol. i have just gone to go out and when i started my car it seemed like it was running very roughly, i pulled down the street it beeped and the engine management light came on and said engine cntrl faliure or something to that effect. so i parked up back in my drive, left the car for about 20 mins and when i started the car it was running ok and no light or message.. I am just worried in case anything is wrong as i don't want to be out with the kids and something to go.

Any ideas?

sounds like youd need to get the codes read to pinpoint the problem.

could be a cracked/faulty coil pack, a simple plug/ht lead problem, or the 1600's can suffer from faulty injectors too.

any half decent garage should be able to at least read your codes.

definately have it scanned, if you are near derby i can scan it for you. then when you know the fault codes you can investigate further
