Technical prob with door / light switch

Alarm is bleeping on arming and my interior lights don't work
well, the back door lights work but not the front or rear hatch light

how do the switches work, are they on the lock mechanism, how can I bypass is or fix it

Arnt they on microswitches in the door hinge area? These are the usual "high quality" 10c per hundred automotive body fit components and are probably just open circuit. Sometimes flicking the actuator or a squirt of WD 40 into the body will save them. If all else fails I will walk round to where the Marea is parked and look.
