That's because the 2 threads have been merged together.................

I like them. I can't see any other reason not to like them other than there's more important things in the world that money could be spent on, but I give a few quid away each month to charity so I would feel happy about indulging.

a mate of mine has T3 RUC then an E (for england) at the end, spelling his name (BRUCE) He only paid around £250 for it but was nearly done by a DVLA inspector who was just by chance passing his house and read him the riot act about changing sizes of letters ect (we think this inspector was a scam tho, as we've never heard of inspectors coming out and checking plates ? just thought it was the plod who done it)

IMHO i think a plate like my mates is good but as for having your intials i dont see the point as theres only you and your friends no the meaning of it, even tho id go for summat like Jay or a fun plate (w4n k4r) or summat(but thats my childishness showing thru:eek:

Jay

saw one today on a big 4x4 pick up type thing S1 HITE now why would you have that on your car?????

If I could get the one I want, I would have it. But even though its the right format for a reg plate (L N LLL) apparently it's not available (n)
Of course it could just be that someone else has it, in that case I will hunt them down..........

And pay them a lot of money for it :D

well you could have LLL N L instead :chin:

like HZD4E instead and just mush it closer together, or use a sligtly different font to makeit look abit more like H2DaE

I've just had an amazing idea. Say someone wants something like 'MR B 1G but can't afford the mortage required to buy the registration number from the DVLA?

Here's what you do:

1. Go to Homebase.

2. Buy some stick on outdoor letters meant for a front door house name/ number.

3. Stick letters on boot/ tailgate and front bumper (near the numberplates) in the combination required - you have total freedom to spell out whatever you want.

4. Hey presto, you have those magic letters on the front and back of your car and it only cost about £4 and not the silly £££££££'s that everyone else is paying!

5. No retention fee, no extra £££'s going to the DVLA fund/ government.

6. Now everyone can see your car and know what your name/ initials/ messages is.

7. Your life is complete. You can feel just as important as someone who paid £500,000 to have 'A 1' on their car but it only cost you a few pounds.

8. Now you are somebody in the world. Everyone will be impressed!

7. Sorted. :D

Lol, why didn't I think of that!

Ah, they're a bit of fun. Ok for what they're worth you could get a new body kit, prime and paint it aswell as fit it for cheaper but it's unique as it actually means something to you (lol, not the fact that every number plate is unique!)

Also, I'm certain BO 55 MAN was sold as soon as the '55' plates came out, probs on a black X5

I am all for having personalised plates... I have one :p
But it's a damn site cheaper over here to have them. I paid £100 for mine and it is exactly what I wanted: SLOVAC
No funny letter / number mix to get something that almost looks like a word. You guys are getting ripped off by the sounds of things.

 :bang: We get ripped off for everything over here mate, we are used to it now

Personalised plates are no different to putting a spoiler, new bumper or new alloys on your car. It's a bit of personalising, that's all.

Those who pay hundreds of thousands for reg plates, I'd bet they're the big money blokes for whom that's just pocket change.

Some people like paying £100 for a pair of ripped jeans just because they have the 'right' name on - go figure!
