If its got a good detergent pack and 2-EHN it can help with combustion deposits, they never tell you whats in it though.

My experience, you won't see any difference in mpg, but it should help clean deposits, injectors, but over time, not by the odd tank full.
But standard diesel from BP or Shell is by far better not only mpg but I don't get problems with the odd EML light or even limp mode created from regular usage of supermarket fuel, but that was 6 yrs ago, just not used the stuff since, I stick to BP mainly

BP user myself in vw tdi sharan and toyota diesel

definitely cleared out a tdi engine and improved
performance and fuel with several tanks
Toyota seems to clear up when using
after running supermarket fuel the
premium diesel perks it up
then back to standard bp diesel

just wondered if the older engine was as fussy

You should feel a difference but it may take 2 or 3 tankfuls.

Another alternative I used when I had the Ducato based motorhome was to add 100 to 150 millilitres of 2 Stroke engine oil in the fuel tank before I filled up. Some owners say this is snake oil but others report smoother running (I did). My belief, for what it is worth, is that todays diesel fuel is different to what was used at the time these engines were developed.
