hi all i have had a powerflow system made and fitted in essex and all seemed good, until yesterday when it started blowing by the manifold flange :(
i have only had it for about 1 month has anyone else had similar problems and if so how good are they at sorting them out. please help and dont kill me for not having a supersprint. lol
oh and has anyone with a custom exhaust on a 1.6 got a funny kink about halfway along or is it straight in the middle?

Where abouts in essex matey? i am thinking of getting a full system on the rat wagon.

grays near lakside shopping center going back saterday to get it sorted i hope :)

PowerFlow exhausts aren't very good... ask Ash-G.

He thought it was well maid, untill he had a problem, when to a propper stainless exhaust place, who custom make all their exhaust and they cut it up to inspect it.

To Ash's horror it was rubbish!!! shoddy materials and very shoddy fabrication.

If you want my advise, contact Speed Steal in Tipton, Birmingham & get prob the best exhaust (in my opinion) you can, for the same price (or less) than a powerflop!!!

They custom made the exhaust for my mum's car... boasting a 40" hand made centre silencer!!!

Was it FASTLANE Styling? i have had some contact with them regarding a full system.

Didi you have a full system incl backbox?

What sort of price did you pay?

no it was top gear and i paid £300 inc Vat for the lot including backbox and flexi pipe at the front if you have a mk1 then i think it will be about £250 as i dont believe it has the flexi at the front. hope this help and im sure if i am wrong someone will let us know.

i dont supose that anyone looking at this could tell me if a mk1 manifold will fit the mk2 with the cat in the manifold/front pipe. i have the realy short manifold before the cat the is sold in the parts place on boo.

Powerflow are a frachised business, so the guarantee on the parts themselves is with Powerflow, the assembly however is guaranteed by the garage that fitted it.

TopGear are the main/flagship franchise for PowerFlow in the UK and should be good at sorting any problem you have with it.

you shouldn't have a problem getting it fixed. For my sins my first ever SS exhaust was powerflow, and i asked for it to be quiet. Their fabricator thought he knew better, and didn't put a middle box in. The noise was mindblowing. i mean literally! it made my eyes water as i approached 70mph in 5th!

I phoned as soon as i got home, said it was not what i specified, and he booked me in 3 days later. they added a mid-box which helped some. Because i had actually said i wanted it as close to standard, and despite the fact that that was a tall order(which i was advised at the time) he apologised that it was so far from spec. Naturally there was no charge for the additional work.
Basically, what i'm saying is that they will fix it, especially when its faulty workmanship. If possible however, i'd write to tem, and tell them i'm disgusted with the quality of the work/materials, and demand a refund. Let them take the exhaust back if they want! then go out and for the same sort of money put a supersprint on. Or go to one of the companies recommended above. Mine was fine eventually, but your cowboy fitter sounds to have been worse than the monkey who fitted mine.

the build quality of powerflow isnt actually powerflow fault. as its a franchise (sp) so its dealers that give them a bad name. i wont stick up for my dealer tooo much. they seemed genuine and maybe its cos i was there first car my echasy wasnt exactly the best ever made. that said it got a life time garentee (sp) so any problems i can take it back.

as for loudness id say u went to some cowboys. the lads in bury took me out in 2 differnt cars to sort of demo how different it is from 1 sillencer to 2.

i went for a 2 medium silencers in the end. was dead quite when i left the garage. about 3 months later and soot had got on it a nice little growl now

just take it back and get them to fix it
