Technical Power Steering

Drove through rather large puddle and 10 seconds later power steering warning light appeared and no power steering now for 4 days. garage cannot find problem an dhave to get it on a diagnostic mchine.
It is 1.9 Multijet
Anyideas?

Right at back of engine, down by steering rack / resovoir is a connector, this could have come apart / or be an issue. (Happened on mine)
