Hello everybody I have a Stilo 2002 1.9 jtd today I had to travel for about 4 miles on very rough bumpy unkept roads I went into a cafe had a coffee when I got back into my car and driven for about 50 yards all of a sudden I lost my power steering managed to get to a clear piece of road stopped the car had a look to see if there was anything leaking there wasnt. The power steering warning light was lit, I stopped the engine waited for a few minutes restarted the car warning light went out and had no trouble all the way home.
Anybody give me any idea what could be the cause, appreciate your input.

Low battery voltage causes the power steering to be switched off due to it's very high current drain - it protects the rest of the electronics to keep on working.
So check your battery and alternator.
