Depends how fast it loses the fluid, if this was the first time its had to be topped up in x years dont worry, if it was a serious leak you would see it, maybe hoik the car up on ramps and have someone work the streering side to side while you lie underneath with a torch, I wouls suspect the steering rack seals or gaiters.

just did a 70 mile trip in it and no fluid loss so it cannot be a bad leak if there is 1 at all fingers crossed lads....

Just noticed today signs of oil on the floor from the above the front tyre on the passenger side! Whats the most probable cause and cost of repair of this...

Just tighten the hose clamps first....

When the reservoir is overfilled (above the "min" level) the fluid will come out, with the engine at operating temps.
There is a small hose specially designed on the lower side of the reservoir, that will dump the overflowing fluid on the ground.

But, if you do have a leaking system, there are special additives to stop it, just ask at your car parts store, they will know what you mean.

Underneath the battery tray is a clip holding the PS pipes to the inner wing. The pipes are shrouded with some sort of tough woven mesh. The clip on my son's car had caused a break in the return pipe which caused a leak in just the same area as you describe. The quick fix was a piece of inner tube with a jubilee clip, which cured it & was later replaced with a 10mm compression fitting at the next service. Gotto be worth a look?
