if its a punto from 99 or later then its a common problem, and usually very expensive to fix unfortunately.
going to a fiat dealer will cost a lot, but most local garages wont have the equipment to do it themselves. ask friends and family if they can recommend a good local garage, then take it down for a free quote to see if they can help.
