My 2006 Panda steering started to self steer when stationary and also only works in one direction. I've removed the column and sent it to BBA Reman to repair my unit instead of a complete exchange.
They've contacted me to say they cant find any fault with it and are sending it back.
No fault codes were showing and battery is 4 months old.
Where do i go from here?
Shall i get a S/H column from a breakers?
What's your thoughts

calibration

damaged suspension

flat tyre

faulty torque sensor

so many options with very little to go on

Are we talking about a violent turn on its own or a slight pull to one side

does it turn the steering wheel while stationary on its own.

How are you reading the fault code ? You have to directly connect to the steering module otherwise the code reader will only connect the the engine ECU

No suspension damage, it just started coming home from work.
Even when stationary steering wheel turns to the left.
I thought it was the torque sensor but apparently checks out ok.
I guess just put it back on and see what happens.

Torque sensor.

They can be intermittent.

Sometimes just reseating the cable connector is enough

They use to be cheap from China. Last time I looked the prices had gone silly

Less than £20 to over £50

Not that i have had to replace one. Nearest I been has been solved by reseating the connector, turning the steering from lock to lock then recalibration

Well good news, received my steering column back from BBM ,fitted it yesterday cleaning all electrical contacts as i went and all seems fine.
Fingers crossed that's all it was.
Wonder how many other people have changed their EPS columns when it might be just a bad connection?
