oh sorry - the engine is fine, that doesn't cut out - needs a few revs but the engine is ok. It just about keeps itself going on its own momentum. The mechanics seem fine, the thing gets hot because its loaded to the gunnels with fishing stuff and people whilst trawling up a 3 mile hill on the M25 - and keeping the car above 65mph is generally a foot on the floor challenge.

Seriously, it just needs a flush out, the radiator is full of crap having sat around for 4 years. Yes the mechanic did it once but it needs doing again.

The mechanics are fine, the engine doesn't cut out (yet) but threatens too and not being able even to indicate due to a lack of battery power is making driving somewhat hazardous...

Hope thats clearer.

BTW, tightened up the fan belt and now the water pump works and the battery charges up.

Amazing how one screaming fanbelt could cause so many problems, all seems to work fine now.

I swapped jobs with the builder next door, i painted the door, he fixed the car - genius.

Thanks everyone
