hi
I have a alpine mrd-301 amp powering a 12" type r sub, and was wondering if adding a power cap would help my amps power input and if i did buy one what spec i would need???

if anyone has any surgestions i would like to know thanx!! :)

Nah a cap would be a waste on your system IMO. Most systems which have a cap don't really need it IMO. A cap is designed to provide power when the bass drops and there's not enough power in the whole car system (typified by dimming headlights).

smaller caps can also be used to level off power peaks and traughs causing static noise on your amps output (Thats not generated from the RCA input).

But as chaos said, your amp is nowhere near drawing enough to worry about it. You should work on the basis of about 1farad to ever 1000w of power... so @ about 175watts, you definately dont need a cap :)
