So I have a 2014 fiat 500L POP and I've noticed more and more that as the turbo spools I hear a whooshing sound like an air restriction in the system with an OBD2 reader I'm seeing boost spikes to 22 and it holds 18 however above around 4.5k rpm it feels like I start loosing horse power and I start loosing acceleration I've replaced the coil packs and spark plugs and air filter and I'm just trying to figure out a solution

Can be a stone has gone through the intercooler or a split in a turbo hose. I had one that was the EGR pipe where it fits onto the inlet manifold. This was on a diesel though.
I have used a kit of blanks and a air valve to test for leaks on the hose and intercooler with some success , but a smoke detector kit can be more useful in some cases. More expensive though;)

I've always had a clean engine air filter on the car the noise started on the trip from Utah to Delaware in Utah I could be punching it and let off the gas and I couldn't hear the purge where as down here if I do the same thing I get a loud purge

Can you read and error codes or store live data from when it occurs?

There are no error codes I am showing a cylinder 1 misfire but it is minor (100 over an hour long drive) I'll get on torque later and take a snapshot video with graphs what data are you looking for?

I plan on at least having intake air temp boost pressure and rpm showing but idk if any others would help you.

Most of the Forum members who can advise on diagnostics use MultiEcuScan MES and are pretty clued up on it's use.
I use something different as one of my vehicles is a Fiat Scudo that uses a Peugeot engine which MES doesn't include.
I wouldn't be happy with any form of misfire, any chance it is due for new spark plugs, or leads and coil pack issues?

I replaced the spark plugs and the coil packs with boch so I would assume they would not be the problem

The other issue with multiecuscan is that I don't have a laptop to run it with I have the cables and a yellow cable but no laptop anymore sadly

I'm going to move the ignition coil and see if the misfire follows and just get a replacement

Ok so I was looking a little more to the air filter side and I'm missing the air intake hose from the front (bumper grill area) to the air box could that cause any issues?

Ideally the the air coming from outside the engine compartment is cooler/dense so more oxygen, however ECU should compensate. So unlikely to be the issue.

Also the intake air temp hits 130 on a 95° day so... Ik that's not helping at all

Does it have an intercooler?
I would assume it does because it has a turbo the outlet for the air of the turbo goes into the grille then comes out on the driver side through a plastic pipe then into the throttle body and engine
