Hi, I’m Alan.
And today I took possession of my first ever Fiat. I’m not even sure what model it is, but it was cheap and got me out of a muddle ?
It’s an 03 1.2 Punto.
It drives quite nicely for a little car and moves ok if you rag it.
First thing I did when I got home was check out the speakers. Never ever have I had such an easy time getting to them. Every other car I’ve had it was door cards off and a million snapped fasteners.
Unfortunately the reason for the buzzing was Oem paper speakers that were not attached to the outer ring anymore.
eBay produced a set of direct fit (according to the box, official upgrade) Kenwood jobbies. Front and rear and mounts and grills. £25!!! That will do nicely.
Next job is some front pads and I hope a year of happy motoring.

Hi,hope you enjoy your car. If it's got small long head lamps and no round fiat badge on the centre of the boot,it's a mk2. Bigger headlamps on the mk2b .

It’s got what look like projector headlamps. Kinda long and thin, but it has a round badge on the bonnet and says active on one side, which reminds me, I need a new side repeater. Ones missing it’s cover and looks like someone’s squished a haribo egg on it

The speakers arrived next day. 15 minutes to fit all 4. I like this car already. Didn’t think I was going to at all, but it’s a little gem.
Time for another question.
I’ve done a thorough internet search, but obviously not thoroughly enough for the rubber side trim.
It’s a three door, the bump trims on the door and the passenger side rear quarter are fine, the drivers side rear quarter is missing.
Just for completeness i would like to source this bit.
Where the most likely place according to the forum that I could find this?
My googlefu is weak this weekend.
Thank you

Fushing wire a unit of a scrapper these days
Getting a new peice like that is gonna cost €£¥₩

Atleast coming off a scrapper it dont matter if you damage the paint
Clean all the glue and residue off - apply fresh - stick to yours - Let it set - let it set - let it set
And quids in.....

Side repeaters are a twist and pop out... however mine never budge... best to get arch liner - slide hand up and do it that way
Less chance of breakages

Fit 2x amber w5w (py501?) As you will never have to touch it again....

Front pads is easy
Clip out - bash pin free
Rotate caliper on slider
Pads out
Piston in
Clean
Clean
Clean
Fit pads with dab of grease on required bits
Caliper down
Push pin back in - tap tap
Fit clip
Done!
20mins once cars off ground id say
I spend more time cleaning then a little....
