I am going to open the flood gates here - fill your boots folks.:yum:

I am seriously thinking of trading in my Bravo for a.........................................wait for it.................................................................................................................. a Skoda Roomster. You are getting a cracking deal on them at the moment and I like the versatility. Camping trips, family holidays etc.

What do you think :)

p.s -my bloody boot badge has fallen - that has never happened to any car i have ever owned - its gonna look s**t for trading in now. i still have the bit that fell off - can i glue it on with super glue ?

Mate,

Any questions on roomsters let me know and I should be able to answer them ( mainly technical ). The vehicle was designed for people like you, they want something versitile fr camping, mountain bikes etc etc. I will say from an interior point of view compared to yeti,Octavia, Superb they are a complete letdown in my opinion. Cheap plastics everywhere but bolted together well. All depends what you want from a vehicle, A different world from Bravo, what retailer is near you?

Specialist Cars Aberdeen

the 1.2 TSI is the one with a deal on at the moment - 25% off list price.

That dealer ( from what I know) is ok and the technicians are quite helpful, propbably one of the better dealers, the 1.2 TSI is a cracking engine for its size, go drive one and see what you think. If I remember correctly its skodas own engine.

Boot badges really are not hard to source or fit, push button or not!

Personal opinion, I wouldnt glue it back on. I tried that.... It looked awful, you could just tell! The new badge made the car look great.

Do you know if the Roomster is likely to be replaced soon - it's been around for a bit (althoiugh did get face lifted and new engines recently i believe) its not too important but it would be nice for the car to remain current for a wee while

Im not sure if it will be replaced at all as its not been a big seller for them, I'll try and find out for you.

Why does it matter? Its not as if anyone pays any attention to whether Skodas are the new models or not (or indeed any car come to think of it)

Cowimars,

Replacement for Roomster is approx 4 years away. Possibly a bit longer. Hope this helps

Thanks bozzaspad - that helps a lot. i think i have made up my mind and i am going to buy one. a completely different car from the bravo - but practical for us at this stage. many would argue that i am going from beauty to the beast but i actually like the look of them.

thanks for the info.:worship:

Make sure you drive one to make sure the 1.2 is ok for you. Its a good engine for its size but i prefer more power as used to it. Also is your Bravo a petrol atm? If its a diesel would a diesel be a better option? 1.2 with family and what ever kit your going to lug around wont necessarly make for good fuel economy, let me know what you think once you have driven it. Oh and if you can get to look at one or budget allow the glass roof which is part of bodywork and can not open is a real nice touch.

Driving a 1.2 TSI on Saturday. The SE model which i am looking at comes with the glass roof as standard. Looked around one Saturday past (but didnt drive) and loved the glass roof - children will love it also. I am hopiung the 1.2 turbo will be enough - i know you get it in much bigger cars like the golf and the octavia 9(and maybe even to Superb) so hoping it has enough puff. My Bravo is only a 1.4 petrol non turbo so i am not exactly used to driving something thats a rocket anyway - i am actually hoping the 1.2 turbo will have more than than the 1.4 Bravo.

I will let you know how i get on - thanks for all the info - its great.

Did consider a Doblo or a Berlingo but i dont like the van like origins.

I have put a deposit down on a 1.2 TSI Roomster. Liked the way it drove - felt it more oomph than my standard 1.4 Bravo - its no rocket but is sufficient. Should be cheaper to insure, tax and run than the bravo - and it has more family space. Doesn't look anywhere as nice but you cant have everything.:)

The engine is latest generation from skoda and although i cant remember the power output of non turbo 1.4 bravo the 1.2 has a turbo and is a good little engine, use decent fuel in it as they are sensetive but great. Room in the back is good and glass roof is great in summer. Kids should just gaze up out of it. Enjoy the new motor.
