Hi All,

I have two exactly same Stilos.
Both are 1.2 petrol, both MY2003.
When I bought the second one, I noticed that it seems to have much power than the ‘old’ one.
On the other hand, with the ‘new’ one, I can drive at idle in 1st/2nd gear (of course it’s not how I usually use it but when approaching red lights, it needs the clutch on much lower rev than the other one), while the ‘old’ one jerks in the same situation and at low speed in traffic jams. Both accelerate without lags or dead points, though.
I cleaned the throttle body month ago on the one with poorer performance, while the other one is as I bought it. No significant difference in live data, too.
Should I perform a throttle position relearn with MES? Can it solve the problem?
Thx

Are you sure it's the same model of 1.2, there are a few, like the 60 and 69hp versions on the panda.

Er… yes :)
Both are equipped with the 188A5 engine.
As far as I know, there were no other variants of 1.2 in the Stilo.

Hey All,
I want to revive this topic as I performed some measurements. (Unfortunately, I could not perform a compression test.
The two cars are marked with INZ and IVF based on their licence plates.
Both are 1.2 16V with the same software version.
Can anyone see something that could indicate why the IVF is consuming more than 1.5 l/100km while having being far less dynamic?
(Strange thing is that the FRA parameters don't change during the process but are different and the DTV does not change in case of the IVF while it does change in case of the INZ).

Do they both do the same kph/1000rpm?
For example, what is the speed at 2000rpm in top gear?
It's not unknown for a different gearbox to be fitted to a 1.2, if it gets replaced.
Externally the same, but different ratios for different models.

I checked it in the morning.
Both perform the same.

The numbers are appr. the following:
2nd gear 2000 rpm: 30 km/h (19 mph)
3rd gear 2000 rpm: 40 km/h (25 mph)
4th gear 2000 rpm: 56-57 km/h (35 mph)
5th gear 2000 rpm: 70 km/h (44 mph)
100 km/h (62 mph) in 6th gear: 2400 rpm
