General pollen filter

Not too easy to get at but it helps if you take a plastic panel near the steering column out of the way. Don't worry about breaking plastic studs. Halfords or an auto factor have suitable replacements.

Now I have air again out of the vents, instead of just noise

Took mine out ages ago, because of the restricting effect it had. No ill effects or problems after that.

Except all the rubbish that the filter is designed to collect will now get caught in the heater/air conditioning mechanisms and into the car.

Mine has been out since 2009. And I have yet to see any rubbish in the mechanisms. Here's a thought: Before the fancy filters, they use to run good, then the manufactures introduced the so-called pollen filters, money making scheme?

Yeah....the manufacturers probably fitted them just so they could make their cars more expensive.

no filters in the aircon is a money making scheme? seriously? have you even seen how small the radiator is? have you ever tried running your a/c at your home without a filter? have you ever seen what crap it collects after a year? without the dirt the air system will stink even more collecting more dirt especially when you run a damp wet environment like the a/c
