Hi Everyone!

I've just purchased a new ASUS VX2S and the first thing I need to do is get rid of Vista as I hate it and reinstall my XP Pro onto it.

My problem is a message saying no drive detected/recognised. I then found the SATA drivers but cannot install them as I have no floppy drive.

The Techs at ASUS said that the VX2S supports XP and they've emailed me all the associated drivers, however, they've not offered me a solution on how to get XP onto my machine.

Please please help, step by step instructions would be great, I know I'm not the first to want or do this, but I am completely baffled!

Any expertise or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Make sure you have backed everything up off the laptop that you need.

What XP disk do you have? You are best getting hold of a XP Pro/Home CD with Service pack 2. (Any XP pro/home CD will do the job just means more updates afterwards!)

Boot the machine off the CD. If this has been done correctly you should get a screen like the one in the image attached. It’s then a case of pressing enter and following the on screen instructions. If you didn’t boot off the CD you will need to change the boot order in the bios. when the machine first comes on you will see something that says 'press f1 for bios' etc. or if there is one that says 'boot menu' or 'select boot device' go for that and select the CD/DVD drive!

Post back :)

Can't honestly remember if XP Setup supports this but if you have a memory stick, bung the drivers onto that and plug it in before entering setup.
