General please help please

i have a fiat multipla petrol y reg 2001. it has not had a service since it was born due to previous owners. i suffer problems from cutting out so going to clean my maf,egr and idle control! i have cleaned my idle control today which has done wonders for the performance BUT i can not find the maf sensor and egr could any one please help me find it diagrams great help but every little helps also any thing else i should do to it as i said its done 80,000 with no service ive changed air filter plugs ht leads oil and oil filter today. but having a full weekend on it so please give me as many tips and advice as possible thanks very much also is the fuel filter a lifetime one or should i change that too???????????? all advice well received and acted on thanks in advance

The hardest part of owning a Multi is the absence of helpful material.

I've not had any issues with map or egr (yet) so can't help you.

Hopefully someone will come to rescue.

I am 99.97% certain that the petrol Multi doesn't have an EGR - it is only to return exhaust gasses to the turbo and is exclusive to the diesel model. MAF sensor is usually mounted in the large tube between the airbox and the throttle body.

Hi Shaun, with the fuel filter, I dont think they would get clogged as much a diesel filter. You could change it for peace of mind, but they are quite expensive, round £70-£100. Yep the petrols dont have the EGR valves so your quite lucky, trust me! I would buy some injection cleaner and oil cleaner. The oil cleaner prolongs the life of the oil and helps the engine buy cleaning it too. If the car hasnt been serviced since new then I would really recommend that you change the oil again in about 2-3 months along with a new filter. I hope you get the car sorted.

thanks might do the filter need new lambda sensor and cat now so thats hit the barrel of the bank lol have changed the oil again not long back to get the fiat demons out of the engine lol thanks for your reply
