I just recieved a set of m12 bolts from Paul R but they don't seem to have the right taper/colar on them. as the drop down to far and leave me with 3mm of bolthead to try and do up and the theres then a gap on the bolt before the thread starts.
sorry if this makes no sense but I'm pretty desperate.
Tom?

Pass, I've never actually looked for them anywhere as I currently have no cars with alloys.

u wont get them from halfords - we dnt sell em there - only locking nuts

@mit

Phone 112 and ask them for car spare places in your area, they'll sort you out.

Stupid question Dan but have you tried your old bolts? How do they compare with the one's Paul sent you?

Are the locking bolts the one's Paul sent you?

It may be that the Hubs on the 1.2 and 1.8 are different?

Dan...I have replied to you other post....I still dont understand what you mean about 'it leaves me 3mm of bolt head' (or something like that)? can it be described differently???

Paul R

@ Paul R

I think he is trying to say the taper around the bolt head is differnt to the tapper around the bolt hole on the wheel. E.g. a 90 degree taper into a 120 degree hole.

hope this helps explain.

Marin L ;)

the bolts Paul has sent me look just like my steel wheel bolts if a bit longer but I don't know as I havent got them together to compare.
The taper/colar of them is too short and the bolt sinks too far into the hole of the wheel and leaves me with hardly andthing to hold onto when/if I attempt to do them up.
also because they drop down lower the thread only goes so far up the bolt.
the locking nuts have the correct taper on them as they sit right in the hole and leave the right amount of thread showing through the other side.
the bolts are the same size as the locking ones.
does that make more sense?
Been to halfords, partco, fiat... havent got any.
:(
The only other thing is to get my dad to make me up some collars so that the sit higher up/at the same level with the locking nuts.

BTW Try some wheel shops like wheelbase etc. Surely they moust sell bolt when they sell wheels. ;)

Martin L.

I would mate but you see, I need the bolts by friday morning at the latest.
Else I would wait for fiat to get me some but they said it will take at least 5 days for them to get here :(
my current tires won't see me through the weekend hense why I haven't been driving it this week.
bugger, and I rushed like mad to get the alloys and bolts in time.

Dan :(

When I got the HLX alloys for my car I phoned Fiat, they had none in, phoned another dealer, tons in... cost about £15 for a set of 16...

I think i see what you mean i had this with paul when i bought his old alloys i had not enough to hold on to do them up use a socket set ratther then the rench provided should slip into the hole mate.,
