Playlist error: "Bad playlist"

whenever i make an m3u playlist and put it on my USB stick and i try to play it from the B&M system, i get the 'bad playlist' error

any thoughts?

edit the playlist in notepad and see where the files are being called from
I had a similar thing with .wpl file and i searched and replaced the hard disk location with that of the memory stick
