Playing sequence

I use a bog standard 2mb memory stick with my mp3 files on; I don't use folders as I'm not bothered what I listen to.

What I want to know is how B&M identifies what order to play the songs in?

I have Shuffle OFF and expect to hear the songs in alphabetical order (ie song title), as they would appear on my pc directory listing. But this doesn't happen - is there another index, eg from the mp3 file properties, which B&M uses?

how do you turn shuffle off? because when i skip on mine it can go back to a track i had listened to 10 mins ago haha .
