early yesterday morning while staying at my girlfriends student house in erdington i got woken up with... is your boot supposed to be open!

some little (lots of rude words) erdington scum had popped the side of the passenger door and taken of with my parcel shelve (6x9s), my v12 amp and my JML sub, had a go with the head unit but left it and through everything out of the car. all the wires where trailling out of the boot, i felt so sick.

the police just done the normal gave me a crime number and noted it all down.

think this is the final straw with the cinq for me, i was offered a great finance deal on a new punto yeasterday after it all happened so.... this could be the end with me and cinqs.

Are Punto's harder to brake in to then?

Sorry to hear about your car, hanging's too good for them imo.

I'm sure buying a decent alarm would be cheaper than buying a new car !

My sentiemnts exactly, it's got to work out cheaper than getting all wrapped up in an HP deal

But going by my past performance of buying an alarm and only half fitting it......who am I to comment :D

Really sorry to here that.

After living in Glasgow which is reputedly the 3rd highest place in the UK to insure a car due to theft etc & having been the "vistim" on 3 occasions over 10 years, imagine my surprise when after moving to Bournemouth, the heart of grave dodging central, so very low premiums, when after only 6 months in the place my ex. g/f 106 Rallye was broken into and had the head unit stolen even tho (& we all do this) the face was in the glove box. Dorset's finest actually sent out the forensic people to finger print the car!!!!!! & do you know what, they caught the thieving scum 4 months later doing another car & he admitted in court to 18 charges including hers, according to the letter sent to her from the police he got 6 months, which means he spent 2 weeks inside but did restore my faith in the law a little bit! :D

Aaron.

2 weeks Aaron? That's a record, only 1 week for murder ain't it!

Sorry to hear, I'd de-lock, alarm and clear security film my Cinq if that happened.

Liam

Very sorry to hear....and at the end of the day no matter how good you lock it up and alarm it if they want it they will take it.....theiving little ***tards ..... I once had a escort van no security to speak of but had cheap bassbox and amp etc and it was stolen by an 8yr being tought by his older brothers he was cought but police could do nothing due to his age(never found out who his brothers were unfortunatly)

thanks for your replys, been off sorting things out the past 2days,

there is that many things wrong with the cinq at the min that this has just made me think, stop throwin money at the car and get rid.
it needs new drums and rear brake assembely, new bushes on the rear and poss on the front, wheel barings all round aswell as 2 new tyres, the head gasket is on its way out and the clutch has just about had it.

Now with the door being damaged and all the other stuff, plus paying for an alarm to be fitted is some thing i just can't afford.

the cinq is defenatly a car i will return to when i've got more time and a hell of a lot more money to spare. its a great car and haas bags of potential but you really need to keep on top of any problems, and not (like me) leave them till next month.

To reply about the punto being just as easy to brake into, they have very similer brake-in times but the punto ive been offered has a thatcham cat 1 alarm fitted so its some thing i dont need to worry about doing myself.

if everything is sorted with the punto i will have a number of things that i might need to get rid of...
my custom induction kit ( http://www.neale37.supanet.com/gallery/gallery7/gall7f.html )
baring kits,
cylinders
shoes
standard springs

Hey, sorry to hear all this. I know how it feels. It's not good.

I got rid of my Cinq last year for the same reason. Really couldn't justify any longer throwing so much money at it. Im glad I changed because the only thing on the Sei I have paid for is normal consumables and mods except for a radio and windscreen after the break-ins.

What an arse - similar thing happened to me a few wks ago but they only got away with my bass tube and nothing else - I think it was only cos there was one ov them and didn't have enough hands to carry rest but it's second time it's happened to me first time was worse tho cost they got the lot.

I'll never ever sell my car cos of thefts from it - they'll thieve out of whatever car u have no matter what u do - if they wan't something they'll get it (n)

aww sorry to here that :( ya cant have nowt these days the barstools.
Dont do anything too hasty im sure the others will agree-we all have considered selling at some point or another, hang on in there!! xx

Sorry to hear it mic.neale, someone tried to break in my punto last year, luckly they didnt manage to get in but they did quite a bit of damage to the drivers door trying to get in :(

I defo think im gonna leave the cinq as standard if they are easy to get into :(

i think its sad that people in the uk have to put up with so much car crime i dont know about other people but when i leave my car the first thing i do is worry

yep i worry wherever i leave my car - not just about being trashed or broken into etc but also about stupid idiots opening car doors into my car - happened 7 times in 5 days once :bang: went skitz when i caught a bint in a 4x4 open her door into my car and just carry on as if she hadnt done anything

Totally makes my blood boil that. I remember parking by Argos a few months ago and I came out to find a white mark on my (black) Astra door, with a crappy old WHITE Micra - internally draped in teddy bears, bright pink cusions and other tat "parked" skewed in the parking bay next to mine, about 2 inches from my passenger door - so freekin obvious this heap of trash had marked my car....

I must have been in a good mood as of instead of keying the piece of shiite, I left a "polite" note under the windscreen wiper - suggesting the owner of the shed be careful in the future, and also suggesting they look up a number of a good local driving instructor!

Re: tesco rash

lol :p i tend to park wayyy out in the corner of supermarkets when im in the cinq, and even then across a couple of spaces to stop people trying to squeeze into tiny spaces, i get quite a few "polite" notices though telling me to learn to park etc, but heck, its worth it for the piece of mind that my cars not as likely to be dented :( one day i'll get all the dents pulled out and then i'll guard it with my life lol :p
