Do a test tap the accelerator pedal fast and see how many revs you get on your engine. Get one of these filters then try the tap again you will notice the engine kicks in much earlier apart from this no difference. Better pickup after gear changes too. If you want quality go for pipercross if you want noise and the popular brand go for K&N, my K&N fell apart in a couple of months, Pipercross still going strong

But was the standard filter you replaced in good condition or did it need replacing anyway
