I pierced my leg once... well.. actually a friend did... he threw a garden fork thing at me and i couldn't run away quick enough

but err.. no piercings... gunna get the Spitfire logo tattoo'd either on my forearm or on my calf muscle. (for those who don't know what the spitfire logo looks like, google it, it's the fireball with an evil grin... not the plane..)

What Colour though?

It'd just be the black outline to start with, then perhaps get it coloured when i got more money.

Unless I can afford to get it coloured aswell. Haven't decided on the colour yet

EDIT - see picture for what it'd look like. It would probably be red if it got coloured. wouldn't have the text though.

The picture of the dragon below was taken a couple of hours after the work and as you can see it's a bit swollen and bloody still.

And yes they are dreads that I have, they are about a foot long now ;)

Love the dragon tattoo! Really nice colours too. Are the inks used today better than in older tattoos? The colours seem so much brighter, and seem to fade less. And the designs seem much more fine in detail. Seems that tattooing has made some good progress in recent years.

It's a Chinese dragon that I want, the round faced one with a long body (serpent like). I want it to run down from my shoulder to my elbow and cover most of the outside of my right arm. I got a quote from a tattoo parlour near me and was told it was going to cost in the region of £400  I've never had that much to spare since wanting a tattoo, even less so now I'm back as a student. I don't even get that to live on for a month!

But I will one day ;)

By the way, how much are some people paying for tattoos? And how about recommending some good tattoo artists? I've heard that they aren't all the same, and a good tattooist is worth their weight in gold.

I've never had dreadlocks, but I like the idea that once they are done they are fairly maintenance free (y)

I used to dye my hair all sorts of colours - red, peroxide blonde, black, blue - when I used to be in bands all the time. But I got fed up with the colour fading and having to redo it every few weeks. These days I just shave all my hair off, wait until it grows to a length that needs brushing, then shave it off again. With my own clippers it also means I haven't had to pay for a haircut for years :D

Only downside is that the shaved head is a bit of a Chav look these days  Might be time to grow it into something different. Quite fancy a mohican, but as I'm studying health care it might not go down with some of the patients. I'm not allowed to freak them out!

I generally pay by the hour for my tattoos, if want a lot of work done then it's best to ask for that, it works out cheaper.
As for dreads being maintenance free  I wish they were. For the first year or two you will have to get them regularly rolled and tightened up, after that I think a lot of it depends on your hair type. Chrissy rolls and tidies my dreads up around every six weeks now, but it takes around 3-4 hours at a time. Not recommended if you have to pay for it. I could just leave them to matt together but they would soon look dreadfull

Epic thread bump. Was gonna start my own thread but found this one instead :)
What piercings do people have then? Ive got my lip on the right and my left ear which is stretched to 6mm at the moment (y)
I want my nose piercing too and the top of my right ear but its too expensive nowadays
