thank you dave (y)

omg see if u told me that before i wouldnt av even looked at the dam thing! well im not gona buy 3 batterys so lets forget that one lol.

ok so if i wanted to put a real turbo init wat would i need to do apart from get one (which i can for free :p off a fiat coupe) so...

correct me if im wrong...

i need to get an intercooler connect on bit to that then one pip to the manifold and then where do i connect the other bit?

thanks

and im still gona take my baffles out and get a thicker pipe and im gona move the filter closer to the front

thanks

LOL the intercooler connects the output of the turbo to cool the charge air before going into the air intake. If you have to ask these questions DONT even attempt a DIY fit yourself!. Have a look in the the Cinq / Seicento section as the 1.2 8v is quite often turbo'd and put into these cars. Do your research!. There are plenty of these cars out there! Basically you need:-

Turbo (don't use the one of the coupe TOO BIG tbh)
Turbo Manifold for the turbo to bolt onto (needs to be custom no aftermarket ones availible)
Piggy Back ECU / Standalone Aftermarket ECU such as a DTA, MegaSquirt.
Bigger / higher flow injectors
Upgraded Fuel pump
Exhaust re-work
Stronger clutch
Enhanced brakes such as the ones from the HGT or your going to die!.
Better suspension recommended. I.E coilovers.

There are probably things I've forgot there also. Can you see why most people just buy a faster car?. :p

Also DONT take your bloody baffles out it WILL NOT make your car faster FFS!. If you going to change your exhaust do it properly and get something that will actually give you extra power. And yes if you want to be a tight ass You will benefit if you get a decent sized one piece silicone pipe to put the filter to somewhere colder in the engine bay.

lol ok fair enough lol that seems like a few days of hard solid work! it is gona cost me quite a bit too cos i can only get a few pipes and the turbo and the intercooler free but if i need a new clutch brakes and all the rest of it then its not worth it!

ok is there anythin else i could put into my engine like a turbo but maybe not so powerful!

btw if i change spark plugs will they make a difference?

Thanks chris (y)

If your spark plugs are dirty yes new plugs will make a difference (not alot mind). Don't buy the stupid high priced platinum plugs, just get proper NGK should be about £3 a plug (y).

Only other method would be a Belt driven supercharger. This is still a substantial amount of work as you would still need an additional ECU because of the extra fuelling and positive boost.

My suggestion is tune up what you have, Induction kit, Remap, Proper Exhaust, Port and polished Head, Fast road / race cams. All this can see you get 90bhp and is considerable less work and cheaper. All this can be done from GSR.

i will put new plugs in then (y)

ok how much would a belt driven supercharger cost me and wats would i need to do

also wat do u mean by port and polished head? wats that? and fast road/ race cams? wat are they and how much will they cost and how much bhp will they add?

Thanks

Not trying to be nasty but ffs buy an old Civic with the 1.6 vtec engine (LE i think?), then you can go vroom vroom with a bit of pace and stop raping this poor Punto...

Saying that I do like the wheels

lol i dont wana spend money on that insurance till around 3 years thats y and thanks lol i like them too lol

What I meant was tune the engine without using Forced induction.

A port and polished head is basically a normal cylender head that has had the intake, and exhaust ports smoothed, polished and in some cases overbore'd slightly. This allows the gases to enter and leave the engine quicker without turbulence.

Race / Fast road cams, are cams that have been reprofiled to change the lift of the valved to take advantage of the newly polished head.

This will set you back about £800+ but will be little to no hassle for you as they would fit it and it WILL work. GrandeJ on here has had a Remap and Induction kit and he's car has got over 80bhp now. with the other mods can easily see you get 95bhp. You would still need to declare these mods to your insurance just like you SHOULD have declared your Green cotton induction kit even though it does F*** all.

Even with insurance into consideration it would still be cheaper in the long run to get a faster car. Just get a 1.2 16v Sporting they are very tunable engines.

can i not just take the engine apart and clean it and polish it myself lol and y would i tell my insurance lol i dont want it going up :p cheeky.. yes i am lol

Thanks chris(y)

How much do u rekon insurance would go up with an induction kit on a 1.2 punto? (im 17)

????????

Some dont increase the price, others do, by different amounts, there are some that wont insure you, but you are being smart by finding out 1st (y)

thing is they actually do no about my filter cos i bought the car with it on lol :p

i might go to a scrapy and just buy a turbo cento
