I was going to post this a while ago but forgot...
I kept having to turn the volume up loads just to hear people talking during a call. They could hear me fine. Then i tried turning the volume up on my phone during a call (Sony Vivaz) and this increased the volume through the car speakers too.
Just had a habit of turning the volume down on my phone before i got the car. Now i keep it on full volume.
Just thought i'd let you all know in case this helps anyone.
