Say i manage to get hold of a coupe in good condition, but with a blown engine. Now say i've managed to find a donor car with a 1.9 or 2.4 JTD lump thats running fine.

What parts would i need to remove from the donor JTD to use in the coupe.

also, will the 2.4 lump be far too heavy and destroy the driveability of the coupe? the 1.9 will be no bother, but i imagin the 2.4 is a big heavy bastid (will it fit is another q)

Cheers Guys

any takers? I'm guessing

whole engine, ECU, manifold, half the wiring in the engine bay ? any more?

new diesel tank and lines, of you will need them cleaning

cleaniong them out would be the preferred option. would i need a different fuel pump?

then there's all the ecu wiring. diesel fuel lines run at a higher pressure than petrol. Engine mounts. Even the 1.9 engine is probably alot heavier then the petrol in the coupe so uprated suspension needed.

suspension would be taken care of. New uprated shocks, and probably 130mm eibach springs. I expect it'd be lowered a further 10mm be its weight up front. probably give the car a bit of a rake, seeing as there wont be a comparable load on the rear springs.

i figured new mounts would have to be fabricated by whoever is fitting the engine. 1.8 is going in for its MOT on Monday, so i'll ask them what it'd require.
