hi,when i take the petrol cap of my sei sport i get no siss noise,(like its not pressureised) then when i try to put the cap back on it won;t lock back into position until after a minute or so.any suggestions cheers

My previous car was an Uno and it let pressure out every time I opened the petrol cap , mostly in the summer when the weather was hot , since I've had my scie (2 years) I have yet to hear this so I don't think there is a problem. If it ai'nt broke don't fix it ..
i had that problem , but it could be rubber just harden up and not doing its job.
But the best way to cure this is to get a new one.

both my cinqs are stiff to lock and unlock, and both never hiss when i take the cap off
before my last one stop working, it was stiff with no hiss, then when i changed it it operated smoothly with the hiss
i dotn think my sei has ever made a hiss wheni have unlocked it. my cap did get stiff so i squited some wd40 into the lock and has worked perfect ever since.
yes the wd40 usually does the trick, as for the hiss a fuel tank has a breather to it and i dont think there is any form of one way valve so in theory there should never be a hiss anyway.

But in the haynes manual, when u change your fuel filter, it tells u to depressuise the fuel system first.
So are there no pressure at all then ??

the pressure they take about in the manual is from the fuel pump onwards mate
after the engine is turned off the pressure can still be held in the lines going from the pump to the TB

i never really had too, just look away when you pull the pipe off so it doesnt go in your eyes

no but there will be fumes in the air anyway if your changing the filter,pressure in the line or no pressure! the filter will be full of fuel which will end up on the floor.
ive made a few run way attempts from people changing a filter at work while someone else is welding!!
scary stuff haha.

cinquecento/sie ownership can be somtimes a bit depressing at times,dont no why! (there like honda's they never go wrong!) haha
Not pressurised! got both my cinq's nearly blow the cap out of my hand
There is a pressure release that kicks in if the pressure gets too high but it is the fvr that usually takes car of this to ensure any vapour is disposed of in a friendly way

this could be an issue, its the same for both of the cinqs they never have the wooosh noise when the cap is removed having said that its 50/50 at work with all the cars i servise some do it some dont regardless of make or modle,,,,,,hhhmm
