One uses a black pump at the station, the uses a green one

Nah, in all seriousness i couldnt tell ya as i only own a lil 1.2, but i hear the turbo lag on the 90bhp 1.3 is shockingly bad....also it would depend which 1.4 as there are like 5 of them..

Just looking at getting a new car in Jan or sooner if i can. There are quite alot of different GP models and some are pretty similar price. Abarth would be nice :D

Well the torque is significantly greater with the 1.3 75 and 90 over the 1.4s but in general the 1.4 8v is probably similar to the 1.3 75.

If you can wait till jan/feb next year you might want to hold off your purchase for the facelifted GP that will also have the new multiair engines.

Any ideas when theyll do the official press relase for it? Or whatever they do.

the 1.3MJ is a 90bhp, where are you getting 75bhp from?

the 1.4 8v is 77bhp

1.4 16v is 95bhp (104-106 with GSR induction)

I'd give a 1.3 mjet a wide berth had a panda 1.3 mjet as a courtesy car twice now and it struggles to move that in a meaningful way also theres always that moment at rounderbouts where you put your foot down to pull out and the engine says..."not now thank you i'm busy" so in a GP i'd dread to think although doubt the 1.4 8v would be much better either but at least it should have an even spread of torque and power.

Havent driven a GP with the 1.3 MJ engine but quite regularly drive corsa c's at work with the same engine.

Turbo lag is really quite bad and the power delivery isnt very smooth at all. I dont mind driving diesels but im not keen on that engine.

I found the 75bhp Mjet engine barely adequate in the 500 so the GP must be worse. It was laggy and recalcitrant and in the 500 at least pretty rough, I wouldnt bother with it unless you really really need the economy.

from a stock stand point the two have barely any substantial gains over one another. both hit 62mph in the 13 secs, both top out at 100 and straight away.

the two things I see noticable is the tq the 1.3 has over the 1.4 plus the mpg and the per lt price of there fuels.

another thing you should note is the difference you can gain with aftermarket parts. with an intake, full exhaust system, remap youd be lucky to see a 10hp difference on the 1.4 whereas the 1.3 would easily add another 30hp not to mention a **** load of torque too!

the guys above mentioned about a turbo lag but Iam almost certain they all have been talking about the 75 hp conventional turbo version while the 90hp 1.3(11.5 secs to 62mph,a big 2 sec difference) version got the variable geometry turbo with little to no lag at all and that could be made even better with the result of some modifications too.

conclusion= no matter what point you look at it the 1.3 in my own personal opinion is better than the 1.4 which is why I my self picked one!

I have a friend that has added an cold air intake,downpipe,decat,b-pipe,muffler,a bigger variable turbo from another car and a remap who has brought his 90hp 1.3 to 125hp I would like to see a 1.4 get that.
