dont quote me on this (I havent tried it), but i think LED's in the roof light should dim in the same way as the normal bulb does, the controllers use PWM (pulse width modulation) to control the brightnes of the bulb, so it should work with LED's also.

They do dim, but like Tom said they start to dim and go all off wery rapidly. Still looks ok

Did you check the video out. Seems fine to me. If it is quicker at dimming not that noticable and it doesn't cut off, it dims to darkness.

Buzz isn't your car a MK1? You wouldn't really live with the dimming light then would you or did paul r fit this to your Bravo?

All im saying it dims like normal. If you look at the reflection in the mirror you see it start to dim alot earlier than when you look directly at the light.

Surly the dimming part of this function is irrelevant, the fact that there is a delay that keeps it on is enough or am i missing the point?

It does not proove that LEDs dim, it just shows that the fixture is capable of dimming LEDs.

Studying electrical engineering at uni i would normally agree that leds cant be dimmed but looking at the video for all intents and purposes the leds are being dimmed. Not sure who i agree with now.

Having a masters in electronic engineering and over 10 years in the industry I know you can dim LEDs, but cannot dim them by simply varying the voltage as claimed earlier.
